Title: BV formalism: from physics to mathematics and back
Abstract:
This talk concerns the BV formalism, or rather its particular version compatible with perturbative algebraic quantum field theory. Its origins are in physics, in the works of Batalin-Vilkovisky, but it has inspired a lot of interesting developments in mathematics. I will explain how it can be used as the guiding principle in mathematical QFT and how it has affected the way one can think about symmetries and observables.
