The School of Theoretical Physics runs regular technical seminars, Statutory Public Lectures and the annual O’Raifeartaigh Lecture:
Regular Seminars – Specialist seminars covering all topics of interest in The School of Theoretical Physics broadly understood.
Statutory Lectures – Éamon de Valera was an ardent devotee of the public lecture as a form of intellectual entertainment, and it was his firm desire that the Institute which he was founding should provide a regular programme of public lectures on specialist topics. The School of Theoretical Physics continues this tradition today in the form of the Statutory Publics Lectures.
The O’Raifeartaigh Lecture – The O’Raifeartaigh Lecture is held annually in honour of Lochlainn O’Raifeartaigh (1933 – 2000), who throughout his time as a Senior Professor in The School of Theoretical Physic made many and varied seminal contributions to fundamental physics.
DIAS Day Lectures – The STP DIAS Day lectures are a brand new concept for 2020, to celebrate the date of the Institute’s founding. On or around 19th June each year STP will host a public lecture from leading figures within the field of Theoretical Physics.
